As the company’s purchase person, the most nervous and fear thing is the try cooperation with a new supplier, if you’re lucky enough to find a good supplier that the price, quality, delivery and service are consistent with your requirements, then congratulations, you have found a long-term cooperation partner, if you found a bad supplier, then your unlucky day came, maybe your bad supplier let your company lose the money,the Owner of company may angry with you,even fire you, so usually,it’s a hard thing to persuade the procurement to change a new supplier, it’s a hazardous thing for them,unless the current supplier have some problems or new business need the new suppliers. Most purchase person to get new suppliers as follow ways:

1.Introduced by friends, and this is the best kind of method, because you can save a lot of communication and investigation costs, you may cooperate with them directly, I believe your friend would not recommend poor vendors for you, right?

2.To attend the related industry exhibition to get the appropriate suppliers,this way would requires you to have a business travel all over the world,you can obtain many name cards of the suppliers, at least not meet a cheater, but how you choose the most suitable supplier ? it’s a issue we need to discuss later.

3.Through the Internet, published the buying leads on some B2B platform or search directly by the google, as you know it is now a buyer’s market, it’s oversupply on most industries,you can get many suppliers by internet, but how to choose most suitable one?

If your company is a very well-known company, then your company also require the suppliers are the  famous enterprises, for example Apple Inc. need the PCBA services, certainly  would look for the related  size  companies like Foxconn to be the partner.

If you work for a small to medium sized company, as purchase person, you would need to cost much times on the choose of the right suppliers, because maybe there are too much suppliers can provide products or services for your company, but you need to choose the most suitable one, why not  choose the big size company as your supplier? maybe your order for them is a very small orders, they would not give you any chance to discuss or negotiate for the price, and the delivery time, your order for them maybe nothings at all. For the small size company,they can give you a good price,the quality also no bad,but the delivery time,may can,t meet your requirements,but you can try to have some small urgent order with those small size company if you like, as a second suppliers.  Both the big and the small size one are no the good choise,then which one can be your most suitable partner? In fact there are no the exactly answer,but on my opinion:if your order can take 30%-50% of the supplier’s sales performance,then it would be your most suitable one supplier,because the supplier would do their best to service for you,you can get a competitive price,a fast delivery time,also a good quality goods,even you can get a good payment terms.

If you are a micro size company, and only purchase small quantity  every time. I suggest you find a trade company, for example, you want purchase 50 pcs products, but the MOQ  of the factory is 1000 pcs,if you plan to buy from the factory, the factory may not reject your order, but  you would need to pay more money compare with to buy from the trade company, because the traders can purchase 1000  or more from the factory with the low price,them have  many customers need 50-100 pcs in their hand. Of course you need to find the right factory to be your partner when you have a big order.
